Overview

These terms govern your use of the Silicon and Stone website (siliconandstone.com), our digital products, newsletter, and advisory services. By using our services, you agree to these terms.

Website Content

All analysis, articles, and content published on this website represent the independent views and analysis of Silicon and Stone. Content is provided for informational and educational purposes.

While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Analysis of regulations, geopolitical developments, and technology trends reflects our assessment at the time of publication and may be superseded by subsequent developments.

Digital Products

Our digital products (toolkits and briefings) are delivered electronically upon purchase. By purchasing a digital product, you receive a non-transferable licence to use the materials within your organisation.

• -Products may not be redistributed, resold, or shared publicly
• -Templates and checklists may be adapted for internal use within your organisation
• -Content may not be used to create competing products or services

AI Act Compliance Toolkit Editions

Standard and Professional include the complete toolkit for internal use within one organisation. Colleagues may use and adapt the materials together. Neither edition grants resale or reuse rights across unrelated client organisations.

Both are one-off purchases with 12 months of updated files and quarterly update emails from purchase. Material corrections are distributed when ready. You keep the files received. Access to later updates can be renewed optionally; there is no automatic renewal. An update renewal does not include another live review.

Professional includes advance review of the submitted workbook entries, one 45-minute live discussion covering up to three AI systems in one organisation, and a personalised written action summary. Book within 90 days of purchase and submit the selected material securely at least three working days before the meeting. The review supports implementation and prioritisation; it is not a full audit or certification of compliance. Additional work is agreed separately.

Standard buyers can upgrade for the £196 difference after their original purchase is verified. The upgrade adds one review; the original 12-month update period continues. The review booking period starts on the upgrade purchase date.

Analysis, Not Formal Advice

Our products and analysis discuss regulatory frameworks including the EU AI Act, GDPR, and other legislation. This content is analytical and educational in nature. It does not constitute formal advice and should not be relied upon as such. For specific legal obligations, consult qualified legal counsel in your jurisdiction.

Advisory Services

Advisory and consulting engagements are governed by individual engagement letters agreed between Silicon and Stone and the client. These terms apply to the general use of the website and digital products only.

Refunds and Cancellation

Digital products are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller for the purposes of your transaction, issues the receipt, handles VAT, and processes any refund. Requests can be made through the receipt email, or to us at the address below and we will take them up.

If you are buying as a consumer in the UK or EU you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase and receive a refund. Digital content is the exception: where you have expressly asked for immediate access and acknowledged at checkout that you lose the right to cancel by doing so, that right ends when the download or unlock begins. Where you have not been given access, the 14-day right stands.

Separately, and regardless of the above, if a product is faulty, does not match its description, or never arrives, you are entitled to have that put right. Tell us and we will repair, replace or refund it. This is a statutory right and nothing on this site limits it.

• -We publish no money-back guarantee and no discretionary refund window. What is set out here is what applies.
• -Every product page states what the product is before purchase, and the interactive tools are free — so you can judge the analysis before you buy any of it.
• -Purchases made by a business are not consumer purchases, and the statutory cancellation right above does not apply to them.

Advisory engagements are not covered by this section. Fees, scope, cancellation and any credit toward a further engagement are set out in the engagement letter agreed before work begins, and that letter governs. Where a fee is described on this site as credited toward a later engagement, that is a credit against a future purchase, not a refund.

Newsletter

By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to receiving periodic emails containing analysis, product updates, and relevant announcements. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email. We will never sell your email address to third parties.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including articles, analysis, tools, graphics, and the Silicon and Stone brand, is owned by Silicon and Stone unless otherwise stated. You may share links to our content and quote brief excerpts with attribution. Reproduction of substantial portions requires written permission.

Interactive Tools

The interactive tools on this website (Compliance Checker, Supply Chain Mapper, Scenario Modeler, Policy Stress-Test) are provided for general informational purposes. Results are indicative and should not be treated as definitive assessments. They are designed to prompt further investigation, not to replace it.

Limitation of Liability

Silicon and Stone provides analysis and tools on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of our website, products, or services.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
